though I know the saying goes
"a door opens for each closed"
but slamming shut with such a crack
crystal clear, no turning back...
I jump and start at such a sound
I've locked the door
I've latched the door so,
for now, I'll be inside
you told me once, you told me twice
in and out my ears my life
left behind so much to learn
echoes of your wisest words
and the sun it shines
but as the sunrises, so it sets
and like a child I won't forget
what I've find I choose to keep
and hum and tune as I retreat
for now, I'll be inside
I'll wait inside
along the road, there come turns
up ahead a mirage burns
my eyes they long for something true
they color red what's colored blue
so as the seasons come to turn
in the fall reflections earned
and as the summer fades away
there's better light in shorter days
as to the earth we all return
there's nothing lost my candle burns
I slowly waken and quickly find
I haven't wasted any time
but,
for now, I'll wait inside

wasting time
who decides
only me
home

oh hi
it's only me
